Hope's Oven BBQ Steak


1 1/2 - 2 lb Round Steak, about 3/4" thick
2 TBSP oil
1/2 cup chopped onion    
3/4 cup catsup
1/2 cup vinegar     
3/4 cup water
1 TBSP brown sugar    
1 TBSP yellow mustard
1 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce   
salt & pepper

Heat oven to 350.  Cut steak into pieces.  In skillet, fry steak  in oil - remove to 13x9 baking pan after browning well on both sides.  Add onion to skillet & brown.  Add rest of ingredients.  Bring to a boil, simmer 5 minutes.  Pour over meat - cover - cook 1/2-2 hours until tender. 

TIP:  Double sauce and bake potatoes in oven at same time--the sauce is GREAT over the top of them!
